Open Question: Questions about applying for a Polish visa, Los Angeles, CA?

I'm applying for a student visa for Poland and I intend to stay for 6 months. Just a few questions. I'm applying by mail, and it doesn't make it clear on the embassy website where I should address the application requirements to. I"m assuming it's the Polish embassy near Santa Monica, CA, but just wanted to make sure. And also, what are their acceptable forms of payment for the visa fee? Is cash okay?
